General Notes: Husband - Abraham S. Martin


Civil War: he was first sergeant in company E, 4th Pennsylvania cavalry, for three years, and was wounded at Kelly's Ford. He subsequently attended the free military school of Philadelphia, and after a competitive examination at West Point Military Academy, received a commission as second lieutenant of company H, first U. S. Infantry, serving for six months.
