General Notes: Husband - John B. Shall

Armstrong Co, PA

He served in the Civil War for three years. During that time he was in a southern prison for eleven months and while there he received a severe bayonet wound in the neck.

He was a farmer by occupation.

In August, 1862, he enlisted in the One Hundred and Forty-eighth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, and served until the close of the war. For the space of nine months he was confined in the prisons of Libby, Belle Isle, Pemberton and Salisbury. In July, 1865, he was honorably discharged at Annapolis. He was a Republican, and a member of the Presbyterian church of Dayton, Pennsylvania.
