General Notes: Husband - Hugh James Marshall
He was born and reared on the farm and received a liberal education. He purchased a farm of 194 acres in 1857. It was underlaid with limestone and a superior quality of fire-brick clay, and was formerly the property of Shipman Newkirk. He was a justice of the peace for fifteen years or more. He was also elected county commissioner by the Republican party.
