General Notes: Husband - William C. Sloan


He was reared on a farm, and attended the subscription schools of that period. He was a farmer of Plum Creek township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and owned two hundred acres of well-tilled land.
On September 21, 1864, Mr. Sloan was called into the service of his country, and went as far as Pittsburgh, where he served until April 12, 1865, when he was honorably discharged.
