General Notes: Husband - Thomas McKean

He graduated at the University of Pennsylvania in 1862, and at once became interested in his father's mercantile establishment, and later became one of the prominent merchants of the city. He, like his father, became interested in a number of local enterprises and institutions, and was a director of a number of financial institutions of Philadelphia, among them the Fidelity Insurance Trust and Safe Deposit Company, the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society, the Insurance Company of North America, etc.
