He was born in Senox Matt's in 1875. [HVC 1879, 558] This must be wrong. Perhaps Lenox, Massachusetts, is the location meant.

He served in the War of 1812.
He married and they settled in Genesee County, NY, where they remained until 1834, then moved to Erie County, PA. They moved to Canal township, Venango County, in 1840. [HVC 1879, 558]

He went to New York when quite young, and in 1844 came to Canal township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, where he resided until his removal to Iowa in 1867.
