General Notes: Husband - James S. Patterson
He was reared on the farm and through boyhood attended first the district schools and later the Academy at Hopewell, Chester County, Pennsylvania. For many years he was one of the substantial agriculturists of that section of Lancaster County, and owned one of its finest farms, consisting of 200 acres, two-thirds of which was cultivated and the balance woodland, and on which was one of the most commodious and comfortable residences in the township.
In politics Mr. Patterson was a stanch Democrat. He was prominent in the affairs of the Presbjterian Church, and in 1884 was chosen as a delegate from the Westminster Presbytery to the General Assembly at Saratoga Springs, and in 1892 he was again so honored, and attended the General Assembly held at Portland, Oregon.
