Civil War: he served an enlistment in Company I, Fourteenth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He reinlisted in Company H, One Hundred and Thirty-sixth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and was discharged for disability on surgeon’s certificate, January 11, 1862.
