General Notes: Husband - Thomas Mahaffey

He and his brother, John, came to Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, at a very early day, locating in Burnside township when most of the land was still in a primitive condition. They successfully engaged in farming and lumbering for a number of years. Subsequently, Thomas bought land and improved a farm near New Washington, to which place he later removed.
In his political views he was a Democrat, and was elected to many township offices, serving as justice of the peace for a number of years. He was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church.
