She was a charter member of the Tidioute Chapter, D. A. R. She took a deep interest in the affairs of the order, and served as its faithful and efficient Historian from the time of its organization till the time of her decease. She united with the Presbyterian church in 1872 and was one of its most loyal and devoted members; she was also a loyal member of the W. C. T. U. She was possessed of an unusually kind, pleasant and amiable disposition and made many friends.
