General Notes: Husband - Robert Baker
About 1795, at the age of nine years, he came to America with his brother-in-law, James McKay, and at the age of eighteen years purchased a tract of 400 acres in Big Beaver township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. [HBC 1888, 621] According to this source, he would have been born in 1786, and it states that he died at the age of ninety-five, or about 1881. This is substantially different from another source, which gives his date of death as about 1862 (which would put his age at death as seventy-six.)
He was born in Ireland, and emigrated to America when he was young. He settled in Big Beaver township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, on a farm of about one hundred acres. He and his wife were members of the Methodist Episcopal church, and he gave his political support to the Democratic party.
Another source states that he is buried in Rocky Spring Cemetery, near New Galilee, Pennsylvania.
