General Notes: Husband - Henry Baldwin Lyon
He was reared in Butler County, Pennsylvania, where his father was an early settler. In 1858 he came to Allegheny County, where he was a teacher for twenty-six years. He was also a sealer of weights and measures of Allegheny County, and clerk in the provost-marshal's office during the rebellion. He held the office of justice of the peace, was a Presbyterian, and in politics a republican.
