Couple wed in
Galloway Church
Delora D. "Dee Dee" Lusher of Jacksonville, Fla. and Ronald Paul Rohlfing, also of Jacksonville, were united in marriage at 6:30 o'clock on Sept. 22.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lusher of 619 McCalmont St. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rohlfing of Omaha, Neb. The Rev. Jaime Potter Miller officiated at the double-ring ceremony in the Galloway United Methodist Church. The altar was graced with arrangements of lavender chrysanthemums, snapdragons and asters. Candelabra accented with lavender bows and greens completed the appointments.
Steve Winslow presented musical selections and Mrs. Thomas Winger was the vocalist.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was radiant in a gown of white silk organza and silk venise lace. The bodice was lavishly trimmed with lace medallions, accented with seed perals. The Queen Anne neckline was outlined with lace medallions and pearls and the long bishop sleeves were adorned with lace appliques. The hemline of the skirt was bordered with scalloped venise lace. Her cathedral-length train was bordered with a deep flounce or organza and sprinkled with lace appliques. A cap, enhanced with medallions and seed pearls, held her fingertip veil. The bride completed her ensemble with a cascade bouquet of lavender and white roses accented with gypsophila.
Mrs. Greg Spence of Oil City, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. She wore a long gown of lilac taffeta fashioned with slender straps and softly gathered skirt enhanced with a bolero jacket with stand-up collar and short pouf sleeves. Dark lavender silk flowers and gyposphila formed her headdress. She carried a single lavender rose accented with gypsophila and matching ribbon.
Miss Brenda Lusher, another sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore an orchid ensemble identical to that worn by the honor attendant.
Rice packets were distributed by Matthew and Kara Haun, cousins of the bride.
Kelly Williams of Jacksonville accompanied Mr. Rohlfing as best man. Ushers were John Grill, cousin of the bride. Charles Haun Jr., uncle of the bride, and Henry Jacoby, another uncle of the bride.
The mother of the bride chose a dusty rose street-length dress styled with sheer sleeves. A corsage of cream-colored roses tied with dusty rose ribbon complemented her outfit. The bridegroom's mother selected a street-length black and royal blue dress. Her corsage was of white roses and blue ribbon.
A reception, attended by 150 guests, was held at the Catholic War Veterans Hall. Lavender and purple streamers and bells highlighted the decorations. Each table was centered with a candle and a wreath of greens and silk flowers.
The bride and bridegroom were escorted to the reception in a 1929 Model A Ford by the uncle of the bride, Charles Haun Jr.
During the reception, a cake was presented to the bride's great-grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Bacher, who celebrated her 94th birthday anniversary. The presentation was made by Mrs. Craig Haun.
Aides were the Misses Marcia Solle, Pam Krepp and Tammy Smith, and Mrs. Dave McElhattan.
Among the guests were those attending from Omaha, Neb,; Jacksonville, Fla.; Raleigh, N.C.; Michigan, Linesville, Baden and Meadville. The bridegroom's parents, brother and sister-in-law attended from Omaha.
Following a wedding trip to Omaha, the newlyweds will reside in Jacksonville, Fla.
