Complications during Debra's birth resulted in severe brain damage. Her doctors did not expect her to live more than 6 months, yet she remained for 31 years. She was a complete invalid all her life and never spoke.

Debra K. Lusher, age 30 years, passed away Friday afternoon, March 7, 1986 at Bay Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Bay City on June 30, 1955. Debra was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Surviving are her parents, Frank and Evelyn Lusher of Essexville; two brothers and sisters in law, Oren and Nancy Lusher of Bay City, William and Kristine Lusher of Mt. Morris; grandmothers, Mrs. Pauline Dukarski of Bay City, Mrs. Amanda Lusher of Zephyr Hills; Florida; two nieces and two nephews. A private funeral service was held Tuesday morning from Stapish East (Essexville) and at St. John's Church with Rev. Fr. Raymond S. Fron officiating. Interment was in St. Patrick Cemetery. Those planning an expression are asked to consider St. John's Church Building Fund.
