Benson D. Lusher, 71, of King Air Circle, Washington, died at 10:26 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 1996, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Born May 20, 1925, in Detroit, Mich., he was a son of Earnest W. and Frances M. Burk Lusher.
Mr. Lusher had been employed by Molycorp for 33 years, retiring in August 1983.
He was a pilot, had been employed as a forest ranger in Florida, and was a member of the Washington Flyers Club.
He served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine P. Rush, and a brother, Jack Lusher of Washington.
A stepfather, Sam Allen, is deceased.

LUSHER - Friends of Benson D. Lusher of King Air Circle, Washington, who died Thursday, July 4, 1996, will be received Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 8 p.m. at the William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 8 p.m. with the Rev. John A. Rathbone officiating. Interment is private.
