General Notes: Husband - John Stephens
In about 1798 John Stevens settled on the Big Sandy, in Venango County, Pennsylvania, at the point where it was crossed by the Pittsburgh and Franklin road, and erected the first gristmill in the vicinity, operating it until his death, which occurred several years later, caused by smallpox. [HVC 1919, 378]
