General Notes: Husband - John Loutzenhiser

He operated a small distillery for a number of years, which he carried on in con­nection with farming. Politically he was a life-long Democrat, and was county commissioner one term. He served one term as major of a regiment of militia, and bore the title of major among the pioneers up to his death.
