He was a native of Ireland, lived in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where he died at an old age. He was a weaver by trade. [HBC 1888, 866]
He was born in Ireland, and settled near Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church, and were among the pioneers of Allegheny County. [HAC 1889, 721]
The first of the family of whom we have definite record in America, he was born east of the Allegheny Mountains [in Pennsylvania], and was a weaver by trade. He was also the owner of a farm.
After his death, his widow moved with her children to Independence township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, in 1817. Of their fourteen children, six died at an early age. [GPHBC, 1058]
