General Notes: Husband - John Walker
He was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and was largely identified with its business interests, having owned, at one time, nearly all of the iron works there. Through his natural benevolent impulses, he gave bail to irresponsible parties, and lost his entire property. While residing in Cumberland County, he was commissioned a Major of militia, his commission was dated May 1, 1787. In 1817 the family moved to Washington County, where he died. He was a man of remarkable physical stature, standing six feet and seven inches in his stockings. His sons were all over six feet tall. [HBC 1883, 248x]
