General Notes: Husband - Samuel W. Reagle
He was brought up in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, and obtained such education as the common schools of that day afforded. While yet a young man, he came to what was then French Creek, now Mineral township, Venango County, where he bought a tract of uncleared land. His sister acted as housekeeper, and in this manner he lived, gradually clearing and improving his farm. He was a man of good business qualifications, and beside the work of his farm he was interested in various mining, lumber, and oil ventures with fair success. He was an active member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian church, and a strong temperance advocate. He was called upon to assume various local offices, and in politics was an ardent Republican.
