General Notes: Husband - William McConnell

---

He came from County Down, Ireland, in 1807, to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He worked at his trade (blacksmith) for three years. He and his wife rode across the mountains to Allegheny County on horses. In 1810 he purchased a farm in South Fayette township, where he later died. He was the father of nine children, of whom Joseph was the seventh.
