General Notes: Husband - Alexander McConnell
He and his second wife settled near Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and a few years later came to Cecil township, Washington County, where he took a patent of land.
He was a native of Virginia, coming to Washington County, Pennsylvania, in 1787, with a brother Matthew. The brothers each took a farm, and Alexander afterward bought 200 acres of the "Black Woods" tract, of one Mr. Black. He took an active part in the Whiskey Insurrection. In church relation he and his wife were members of the Seceder denomination.
