General Notes: Husband - Christopher Lobingier
He removed to Mount Pleasant township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in 1772. He served on the Committee of Correspondence for the county, 1775-76; and was a delegate to the first State Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, from July 15 to September 28, 1776; and under the constitution of 1790 was a member of the House of Representatives from 1791 to 1793.
He died and was buried at the Presbyterian meeting house near Pleasant Unity, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
In the spring of 1772, he removed to Mt. Pleasant Township, then part of Bedford County, but in 1773 when Westmoreland County was established that township became part of the new county.
The record shows that prior to leaving Dauphin County, he had acquired title to 680 acres of land located on Jacobs Creek at what is now Laurelville, but on his arrival at what was to be his new home, he found the title to this land in dispute, title thereto being claimed by a man named Cherry. Until this matter could be determined, he left Cherry in possession and purchased another tract of land in the same township of about the same size and located near Unity, where he resided, meanwhile filing his claim to the Laurelville site with the State Land Office, which later awarded him title, it being found that Cherry's warrant was for land in a different location. From then until 1789, he acquired enough land by purchase and grant to become one of the largest landowners in the county, his tax assessment being only second to that of General St. Clair. On the outbreak of the Revolutionary War he was elected a Delegate from Westmoreland County to the Constitutional Convention, which met at Philadelphia July 15, 1776, to frame a Constitution for Pennsylvania. Benjamin Franklin was President of this Convention, and the Constitution then adopted was the Supreme Law of the state until 1790. He served on the Committee of Correspondence during the War. He was an officer of the Second Battallion of Westmoreland County Militia under Col. John Perry from 1770 to 1779. He also appears as a member of Capt. Clark's Rangers from 1775 to 1778. His name frequently appears in the records of the Zion Lutheran Church and St. Johns Reformed Church at Unity from 1775 to 1789.
