General Notes: Husband - John Blair Linn
He graduated from Columbia College, New York, in 1796; read law under Alexander Hamilton; abandoned that profession for the ministry, and licensed 1798; installed as co-pastor of First Presbyterian church of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1799. Dr. Linn's published writings are "The Powers of Genius," a poem, second edition, published 1802; "Valerian,'' a poem, published in 1806, after his death, with a sketch of his life, by Charles Brockden Brown, his brother-in-law.
