General Notes: Husband - Samuel McCartney

A pioneer, he lived near the present site of Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He resided on what was later the "State Experimental Farm," White township. He was a blacksmith, who made a settlement on that tract at an early period, and had a blacksmith shop there not many years subsequent to the founding of the county seat.
He and his wife died of what was then called "black fever."
