General Notes: Husband - Philip Lindley

He learned the trade of a gunsmith, which he followed the greater part of his life.
He was a soldier in the Revolution, and served under Washington till the close of the war. While in one battle he was struck by a bullet, which inflicted a painful, but not a dangerous wound, and as they dared not probe for it, the leaden missile remained with him, a relic of those days of hardship and danger.
When the country was wild he came to Washington County, Pennsylvania, and amid the forests of Morris township selected a small tract of land, to which he afterward added, and on which he erected a cabin home.
In politics he was a Democrat.

He was married four times, and had six children.
