General Notes: Husband - Thomas Prather
He attended school at Cherrytree, a distance of three and one-half miles, through the woods. He settled on sixty acres, which he fell heir to from his father's estate. They lived for a number of years in a hewed-log house, two stories high, a chimney on each story. He afterwards purchased the Samuel Irwin tract of land, and erected a more comfortable dwelling. Soon after his removal into his new residence he engaged in the mercantile business, in connection with farming. At one time he owned one thousand five hundred acres of land.
Another source states that he was born in 1818.
He died in 1875, aged sixty-six years. [HCC 1885, 1104]
Notes: Marriage
It was a double wedding: her brother, Henry Conrad McCalmont, married her groom's sister, Rebecca Prather, in the same ceremony.
