General Notes: Husband - David Lewis
In the earlier years of his married life, he followed fulling as an occupation, but afterwards taught school during the winter and during summer traveled in capacity of colporteur for the American Tract Society. They were both members of the Presbyterian Church.
He was a native of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and grew to manhood in that county. He became a teacher and taught public school, also the singing schools which were so popular in those early days. He was a fuller by trade, which he followed until the business was destroyed by the manufacture of cotton and ready-made clothing.
He made his home in Jefferson County for many years, but spent his last days in Clearfield County. [CBRCP-CCJC, 799]
