He came to America with his brothers, James and Isaac, about 1772. They settled first on what was afterward known as the "Washington lands" on Miller's run, Washington County, Pennsylvania. They were ejected from their improved lands in 1785. He and his family, with his brother Isaac, a bachelor, went to Mahoning in eastern Ohio.
