General Notes: Husband - David McBride
He was but a boy of thirteen when he came with his parents to the United States. From an early age he worked on the canal and at other occupations, and in time earned the money with which to purchase two hundred and twenty-three acres of land north of Grove City, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; the land was covered with its native growth of timber. He established his home on that tract in the spring of 1842, and with the passing years he cleared and developed his land and became one of the community's most progressive agriculturists.
He and his wife had twelve children.
He and his wife had eleven children, of whom eight were still living in 1888.
