General Notes: Husband - George McAlevy
In youth he learned carpentry and the millwright's trade, which was his vocation for a number of years, and he continued to follow it after coming to Venango County, PA, in 1838, when he purchased land in Plum Township, and also farmed the rest of his days. He helped to erect the mill at the Oil Creek furnaces, near the site of the Union Station at Oil City. [CAB, 664]
