General Notes: Husband - Marks Leighty
He obtained a good common school education, and remained on the home farm until after his marriage, when he commenced upon an independent career. He purchased a farm adjoining that of his father, engaging in the cultivation of same until 1901. At that date he removed to the village of Ruffsdale, and resided there, living a retired life. In politics he was a staunch Democrat, and in religious faith a member of the Reformed church. He was a school director of Ruffsdale beginning in February, 1904.
