General Notes: Husband - Wells W. Bacon
He was reared in Union Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania. He marrried and they moved to Amity Township, where they thereafter resided, with the exception of two years (1881-83) spent in Wattsburg. He was a member of the One Hundred and Second Pennsylvania Regiment, in which he served from March 6 to June 23, 1865. After returning, he devoted his attention to farming. He had an Amity Township farm of seventy acres, another tract of eighty acres in that township, and one of seventy in Union Township. He and his were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church; he was a Republican in politics. They both took great interest in the educational cause.
