General Notes: Husband - Robert Leason
He was probably a descendant of John Leason, whose name appears as an ensign on the list of officers for Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, which then extended to the western limits of the province, to whom commissions were granted between the entries of minutes in the council books of the province of March 8 and 29, 1748.
He was a native of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, of Scotch-Irish ancestry, and a grandson of John Leason, who was a commissioned officer in the Colonial service of the county of Lancaster, then extending to the western limits of the Province. [HJC 1917 II, 328]
General Notes: Wife - Hannah Sharp
"At the age of eight she was deprived entirely of her hearing. Sight, however, supplied the place of hearing with her, in a great measure. She conversed with her family and neighbors quite readily by a close observance of the motions made by their organs of speech. It was truly wonderful with what exactness she could carry on a conversation in this way. She retained the power of speech to the last, and was in the habit of making free use of the pen in correspondence with absent friends."
