General Notes: Husband - Hosea Monroe Nichols

He was educated in the public schools and Randolph Academy. On the completion of his education he entered the employ of the Standard Oil Company and worked up to the position of assistant cashier of the Bradford office of that company. In 1885 he went south to Meridian, Mississippi, where he was for four years teller in the National Bank. In 1890 he moved to Oil City, Pennsylvania, and again entered the employ of the Standard Oil Company. In 1902 he organized the Citizens' Banking Company on the South Side, Oil City, and was elected its first president. He was also connected with various other enterprises in that city. He was a member of the Venango and Rockmere clubs, and in his religious faith he was a devout Methodist.
