General Notes: Husband - Hon. James B. Lawson
He spent his boyhood days at the old family homestead, above Lawsonham, Madison township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania. He was reared and educated in Kittanning, and after his marriage settled on a farm in Madison township, Clarion County, where he passed his entire active career. He became prominent in political and public affairs of his home locality, and served one term as associate judge, and as representative in the state legislature for two terms [1871, '72, '73]. He was a stalwart Democrat, and he and his wife were devout members of the Presbyterian church. He was an elder in the church for many years.
He was a prosperous agriculturist and iron manufacturer of Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and was prominently identified with public affairs, representing his district in the State Legislature in 1871-72, and serving as associate judge of Clarion County. Among the other offices of trust to which he was chosen was that of county commissioner.

She was the first white child born in Limestone township, Clarion County.
