General Notes: Husband - Isaac F. Laughlin

He passed his childhood and early youth on the family homestead. He was educated in the local schools of Derry township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, until he had reached the age of sixteen years, when he removed with his parents to Indiana County, and there continued to attend school for a number of years longer. Upon completing his education he assisted his father with the work on the latter's farm, and he remained until he had completed the twenty-seventh year of his age. He was at that time married and immediately afterwards returned to Westmoreland County, where he became the owner of a farm, upon which he then resided for over thirty years. The property consisted of three hundred and three acres, and he carried on general farming and met with the highest degree of success.
He was a Democrat in politics, and served in the capacity of road supervisor for the township.
In his religious belief he was a Presbyterian and was a member and an elder of the church of that denomination.
