General Notes: Husband - James Martin
He came to Butler County, Pennsylvania, when the lands were covered with the primitive forest and the roads were mere bridle paths between the different settlements. He settled on a farm in what is now Oakland township, built a cabin, and began the work of making a home in the wilderness. He died at the age of seventy-two years.
