General Notes: Husband - Christian Lauffer

He lived in Moore township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, fifteen miles west of Easton, and five miles from the Blue mountains.

He came into Westmoreland County, in 1774, from Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He entered Westmoreland County as soon as the feud between Pennsylvania and Virginia was settled, as to the ownership of the region. The unfortunate early settlers were obliged to pay taxes to both colonies as a means of securing protection against the Indians, and in the majority of cases gained it from neither.

About 1778 he came from Northampton County, Pennsylvania, and settled with his family in Westmoreland County.
He came to western Pennsylvania with four of his sons (Adam was killed in the Revolutionary War and Peter remained on the old homestead in Lehi township, Northampton County) and his five daughters.

All of his sons were enlisted in the war of American freedom. [HWC 1906 III, 657] Which seems questionable if the dates given in the source are correct - some of the sons would have been quite young.
