He came from the old world to America and in all probability was born in Ireland, as his personal appearance indicated that he was of Irish nationality. He purchased and lived on the farm in South Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, which was later owned by William Taylor. He was a democrat and a member of the United Presbyterian church.
