General Notes: Husband - Joseph Piper
He came to Indiana County, Pennsylvania, from Westmoreland County.
He was a resident on Black-leg creek, on a portion of the original McDowell tract, and had a saw mill on the stream, which had been used in its time as an oil mill, chopping mill and later saw mill.
He became very prosperous in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, and was the owner of a large flour mill.
