He graduated from Westminster College, at New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, in 1862; studied theology at Allegheny and was ordained in 1866; was pastor of East Union, of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and of Martin's Ferry, Ohio; was General Secretary of the National Reform Association; later resided in Philadelphia.
