General Notes: Husband - Michael Marshall

He and his wife came from Perry County, Pennsylvania, to Crawford County in 1798. They settled in this South Shenango township, and there spent the remainder of their days, both dying at a good old age.
They were the parents of eight children; two were still living in 1885.

Hailing from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, he was one of [James] Power's surveying party for the Pennsylvania Population Company, and for his services received the east half of Tract 813, which he settled in 1796. He first came out alone, erected a shanty, then returned to the East and brought his wife and child in the autumn of the same year to the wilderness home. He was one of the original members of the Shenango United Presbyterian Church, and a life-long citizen of the township. His death occurred in his eighty-fifth year.
