General Notes: Husband - Archibald Lamont


By occupation he was an edge tool manufacturer and conducted a business for a number of years on the corner of Craig and Lacock streets, Allegheny City, Pennsylvania. He was the inventor of the vise commonly used by blacksmiths and other mechanics, but never secured a letters patent on his invention. He took much interest in educational affairs and was a director in the First ward of Allegheny City for many years. He gave his children a good education.
