General Notes: Husband - John G. Marquis


He attended school through boyhood in Cross Creek Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and devoted himself to agricultural pursuits both before and after marriage. He was also a well known and popular auctioneer and cried sales in many parts of the county. In the spring of 1906 he retired to Burgettstown.
He and his family attended the Westminster Presbyterian Church at Burgettstown. In politics he was a Democrat and served some years in the office of judge of elections. He was a stockholder in the Guardian Trust Company, of Pittsburgh.
