He was a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College, Washington, Pennsylvania, also of the Western Theological Seminary, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, later pastor of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Greensburg, Pennsylvania; Beaver, Pennsylvania; then called to the presidency of Coe College, Iowa.
