He settled in the Black Log valley in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. His family consisted of six sons and four daughters, the eldest son and the daughters remaining at the old homestead; of the other five sons, one settled in West Virginia and the rest in Pennsylvania, in Allegheny, Mercer, Butler (at Harrisville) and Lawrence counties, respectively.
