Wylie Duane Klingler
Wylie Duane "Wayne" Klingler, 65, of Knox, died at 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 1994, in Clarion Hospital following a short illness.
Born July 25, 1928, in Salem Township, Clarion County, he was a son of the late John Wylie and Violet Wenner Klingler.
Mr. Klingler served in the U.S. Army in the front lines from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict.
He retired in 1991 as a foreman from Penelec in Knox after 44 years of service.
Mr. Klingler was a member of the Edenburg Lodge, F. & A.M. of Knox.
He also was a member of the Berlin-Bowser American Legion Post of Knox.
He was an avid hunter and particuarly enjoyed attending NASCAR races and also local automobile races.
Mr. Klingler was married Dec. 7, 1957, to Rheba Stuart, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Stuart Klingler and Steven Klingler, both of Knox; a daughter, Staci Klingler of Butler; and a grandson, Logan Klingler of Knox.
He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Joann) Meier of Knox and Mrs. Imogene Buzard of St. Simons Island, Ga.; a brother, Stanley "Bub" Klingler of Knox; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Lewis R. Fox, retired Lutheran minister, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Knox Union Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Knox Area Ambulance Co. or to the Berlin-Bowser American Legion Post in Knox.
