General Notes: Husband - John S. Sloan

He was born in Salem township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and received his education in public schools of the neighborhood. It was in Iowa that he made his entrance into the business world, remaining there two years and then working one year in Ohio. In 1910 Mr. Sloan removed to Trafford City, Westmoreland County, associating himself with its real estate and insurance interests. In this venture he was successful. As a Democrat he early took an active part in local politics and was elected to the office of justice of the peace. In November, 1915, he was reelected by a large majority. He belonged to the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, and was a member of the Presbyterian church
