General Notes: Husband - Jonathan Myers


He was born in Allegheny township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, near Leechburg, and settled in what is now Gilpin township, Armstrong County, where he owned three farms. He was a prominent man in his township and county, serving the former as school director and tax collector, and the latter as sheriff, to which office he was elected in 1862; he held it for three years. After his service as sheriff he resumed farming until his retirement. He is buried in the cemetery of the Forks Church, of which he was a leading member and official. In poli­tics he was a Democrat and active in his party.
